Welcome to our equestrian brand, San Eligius!

We are Isabella Andrea and Dana Andersen, childhood friends and proud women entrepreneurs who have rekindled our passion for horses. With a rich history in riding since childhood, we took a break from the sport but returned in 2022, inspired by our lifelong love for these magnificent animals.

We chose the name "San Eligius" in honor of the saint known for inventing the horseshoe, symbolizing good luck and protection against misfortune after losing a horse special to us. We aspire for our products, especially our pads, to serve as good luck charms for horses and riders alike, both in and out of the show ring.

Isabella’s equestrian roots run deep; her grandfather, Frank Andrea, was also a lifelong equestrian who competed in the professional ranks of Open and Grand Prix jumping in the 50’s & 60’s. Belle dedicated years to horse showing as well as volunteering at a horse rescue, fostering her passion for horses from a young age.

Dana, influenced by her western Canadian heritage, cultivated a fascination for horses, primarily in the western discipline, before transitioning to English riding around a decade ago. Prior to our equestrian venture, Dana ran a swimsuit company from 2019 to 2022, specializing in unique and abstract fabric designs.

Today, we both proudly own off-the-track Thoroughbreds, a breed that holds a special place in our hearts. Our mission is to provide these horses with a second career and showcase the beauty of equine artistry through our brand. We combine our love for art, design, and horses to create unique products that reflect our passion.
